5 Actors. 3 Plays. One Love Story. Back by popular demand, Echo Theatre presents a command performance of this award-winning three-play cycle with the original cast - Morgan Justiss, Ian Sinclair, Nancy Munger, Susan McMath-Platt and Kristin McCollum. Directed by Ellen F. Locy and Pam Myers-Morgan, the three plays will run from May 7-31, but this time at Theatre Too. Tickets are $25-$30 per play or $60 for the marathon performance on May 31. Call the Box Office at 214-871-3300, #1 for reservations. Online tickets and full schedule will be available soon.
The Nibroc Trilogy follows a young couple from their first meeting in the 1940s through the Second World War and into the Eisenhower era. Told with romance, comedy and a grace evocative of its era, these plays are perfect for a multi-generational family outing. They are a celebration of America’s “Greatest Generation”. Each play stands alone as a charming evening of theatre. All three plays tell the entire love story and may be viewed sequentially or in any order.
The shows in the trilogy are:
- Last Train to Nibroc: a two character play set in the early 1940s. We follow May Gill and Raleigh Brummett from their first meeting on a train bound for Kentucky through their budding romance.
- See Rock City: picks up a year later and introduces us to May's and Raleigh's mothers. With America’s involvement in the war as a backdrop, May and Raleigh learn about marriage, societal roles and sacrifice.
- Gulf View Drive: set in Florida in 1952 where May and Raleigh are living a post-war dream of career success and home ownership. Tensions rise as Raleigh’s mother and pregnant sister arrive, joining May’s mother in an open-ended visit with the young couple.
