Dallas-based ACS signs seven-year, $67 million contract with Marin Healthcare District
DALLAS Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. today announced a $67 million, seven-year contract with Marin Healthcare District (MHD) to provide strategic consulting and outsourced services to Marin General Hospital, the largest acute care hospital in Marin County, California.
ACS will implement an enterprise-wide hospital information and electronic medical record (EMR) system, a full-scale outsourcing of the hospital’s IT department and provide the hospital’s business office with complete revenue cycle services.
“We selected ACS as a strategic partner based on the comprehensive solution they provide, as well as the proven abilities of ACS’ knowledgeable and experienced teams,” said Lee Domanico, chief executive officer, Marin Healthcare District. “We are confident this partnership will significantly help us achieve our operational and performance goals in a cost effective manner.”
ACS will apply its extensive knowledge of clinical and patient accounting transformation services, including its vast experience with McKesson’s suite of products, to assist MHD with the implementation of the McKesson Paragon system, an all-inclusive hospital information system. ACS will also deliver a complete information technology outsourcing solution, including all data center services, telecommunications, disaster recovery and help desk, application, desktop and network services.
“This new partnership is an exciting opportunity to assist a respected healthcare organization in transforming its technology and business operations while providing the hospital substantial cost savings,” said David Bywater, managing director, ACS Healthcare Solutions. “By implementing state-of-the-art information technology systems, we’re enabling Marin Healthcare District to improve their overall capabilities and revenue cycle services to enhance the quality of healthcare delivery to the residents of Marin County.”
