Duncanville releases red light camera videos contradicting couple’s claims

The City of Duncanville has released 11 red light camera videos showing violations by a local couple that appeared in a news story several weeks ago.

On March 17, a story aired featuring Steve and Cheryl Cornett who received numerous citations for failing to stop at red lights monitored by Duncanville cameras. In the story, the Cornetts maintained that they obeyed the traffic laws and should not have been issued any citations. However, footage from the cameras suggests otherwise.

The City of Duncanville administration was not asked to comment on this story before it aired or to supply a response to the Cornetts' allegations. In an effort to allow citizens to decide the validity of the red light cameras for themselves, the videos of the Cornetts' red light violations have been released and can be viewed at www.duncanville.com by clicking on "Red Light Camera Videos Released" link. The Cornetts are seen in the video driving a white sedan or white van. Their license plates have been obscured in order to protect their privacy.

The red light camera story was just interesting until the part about how credible the MR. is because he is a minister. And she said that with a straight face.

But are these cameras now legal in Texas? Did the company operating these cameras ever get a permit to operate in the State of Texas?

FYI: Did y'all know the yellow lights in these "snitch cameras" are SHORTER than in regular traffic lights? That's how they've been struck down in lots of places.

Source?
Experience with all three red light camera intersections within one mile on Davis Blvd in North Richland Hills.
Those yellow lights are way too short. I'm starting to think I'd rather pay the 75 bucks than to stop as fast as I have been and have someone rear-end me.
