North Texas drought conditions lead to water conservation ad campaign
North Texas remains in a moderate drought, despite a couple of recent rain events. (In parts of Central Texas, the situation is much worse.)
In order to raise awareness about what individual residents can do to conserve our most precious natural resource, the Tarrant Regional Water District is teaming up with Dallas Water Utilities to get the word out - via TV ads.
The ad campaign will cost $1.4 million, but the hope is that the money will be well spent if it succeeds in reducing consumer usage, thereby avoiding potential rate increases in the long run.
(Plus, we could pray for rain.)

Perhaps we could perform some sort of rain dance.

Andrew, says:
Actually Pavel, it has little to due with water levels, it relates to the pumping capacity of the water department. I recall several years ago, DWU charging all customers a small fee each month to replace the system, but had to refund it a year or so later when they did not use the money. The current year drought is being blamed rather than the aging infrastructure of the city.
