Richland College to host Joyce Tenneson, renowned photographer
Richland College’s Photography Department and Canon USA present an evening with renowned photographer Joyce Tenneson at 7 p.m. on April 16.
The lecture, image presentation and book signing with Ms. Tenneson will be in Fannin Performance Hall.
Among the most respected modern photographers, Ms. Tenneson’s work has been described as a combination of portraiture and mythology. Ms. Tenneson’s photographs have been shown in more than 150 exhibitions worldwide, and are part of many private and museum collections.
Her photographs have appeared on magazines covers including Time, Life, Entertainment Weekly, Newsweek, Premiere, Esquire and The New York Times Magazine.
Ms. Tenneson is the author of 13 books, her latest, entitled Joyce Tenneson: A Life in Photography, was published in 2008. She is the recipient of numerous awards and was named “Photographer of the Year” by the international organization, Women in Photography. A recent poll conducted by American Photo Magazine voted Ms. Tenneson among the 10 most influential women photographers in the history of photography.
