Eating and drinking events in Dallas-Fort Worth April 9-14
This being Easter weekend, we only need to say two words: Easter brunch at restaurants and hotels all over Dallas-Fort Worth. If brunch is too early for you, there's always Easter lunch, and Easter dinner, too.
But there is more to this week than ham:
With Kenichi saké sommelier Hung Nguyen having recently attained Level II Sake Expert certification, this sake tasting promises to be a stellar event. The menu includes sashimi, gaby Asian greens, Japanese Wagyu tataki maki, choice of caramelized sea scallops or grilled five peppercorn-rubbed Kobe-style ribeye, and warm chocolate "soufflé" cake with cardamom cream and Tahitian vanilla crème Anglaise.
New workshop teaches you how to make and bake cakes just like Grandma: pound cake, cupcakes, chocolate cake, red velvet cake, upside-down cake. You'll walk away with cake fundamentals such as frosting, cooling, slicing, and assembling a layer cake, and preparing perfect cupcakes.
Calais Winery Blind Wine Tasting
Sample seven wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot noir, Syrah, and Zinfandel. This is a blind tasting so you don't know what you're drinking. There's a test afterwards! Just kidding.
Get your nose on and sniff the versatility, nay the magic, behind aromatic varieties such as Gewurztraminer, Gruner Veltliner, and Pinot Gris -- ideal for spring and summer menus.
