Wildfires bring haze upon North Texas

Our Accu-window forecast indicates a nasty haze over the cities, as confirmed by my missus stuck in traffic on I-30. The cause is wildfires spread across the Western counties. More than 1,400 homes in Arlington have lost power.

Officials say that the gunk should clear out this evening.

Anyone with a sense of humor has noted the irony that this happens the day before Dallas' smoking ban takes effect.

Lauren Bradbury, says:

I was sure it was a dust storm, as the wind was from the South (aren't fires Northwest, around Bowie?) and, at DFW Airport anyway, the sky was full of pink/red particulate and the air smelled of unburned pipe tobacco (instead of smoke).
