Firefighters continue to battle North Texas wildfires
According to Blue Öyster Cult, "It's so lonely in the state of Maine" (ref. Cagey Cretins).
How lonely is it? Lonely enough that firefighters from that nor'eastern province have made their way to North Texas to help with the continuing efforts to douse the wildfires still burning off to our northwest in Montague County.
Efforts to send up firefighting helicopters were stymied yesterday (April 9) due to the high winds, which blew a slew of smoke into my North Dallas neighborhood, making it redundant for me to fire up a stogie on the back porch after arriving home from work. (Though I went ahead and did it anyway.)
