Former WFAA reporter, wife killed in North Texas wildfires
While the wildfires that raged through North Texas on Thursday (April 9) caused major inconveniences and property loss for some in the area, their seriousness was brought home when word reached us that former Channel 8 reporter Matt Quinn and his wife Cathy were killed when the blaze swept across their rural property northwest of Fort Worth (in Montague County).
Their son, Chris, remains in fair condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated for burns.

Major bummer. I can't even begin to imagine the horror of being overtaken by a wildfire. You never think of that happening here.
