Another rabid skunk confirmed in Arlington
In addition to daylight-appearing skunks, city officials warn residents to avoid bats, raccoons, foxes and coyotes that do not show a normal fear of humans.
For the second time this year, a skunk has tested positive for rabies in a south Arlington neighborhood.
Animal control officers investigated a report of a disoriented polecat in the backyard of a residence near Fannin Dr. (76001) and collected the animal, which was later (April 7) tested by the Texas Department of State Health Services Rabies Laboratory and found to be infected with rabies.
City officials are warning residents to steer clear of any wild animal (particularly a skunk, bat, raccoon, fox or coyote) which appears sluggish or does not show the usual (and well-founded) fear of humans.
These instances of rabies could be seen as a reminder for folks to keep their pets vaccinated against rabies.
If you notice any suspicious animal activity in your neighborhood, call Arlington Animal Services at 817-459-6098 or 817-459-6158.

Hm, I just got a weird visual in my head: Snow White doing one of her song and dance numbers with her friendly animal pals... except they have rabies and attack her halfway through.
Someone make this happen.
