The Lone Star Film Society - the same folks who put on the Lone Star Film Festival each November - are sponsoring a special screening of the Fort Worth-produced, locally-filmed indie picture St. Nick. The movie will be shown this Saturday evening (April 18) at 8 p.m. at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth (as part of their Modern 'til Midnight theme event).
St. Nick was written and directed by David Lowery. It was an official selection of this year's SXSW Film Festival in Austin; more recently, it won the Texas Filmmaker Award presented by the AFI Dallas International Film Festival.
Both Savanna Sears (lead actress in the movie) and the film's producer, James M. Johnston, will be in attendance for the evening's festivities. Live music and gallery viewing ('til midnight, natch) will also be on the agenda.
The $15 admission price includes all the evening's activities, though you'll have to shell out for whatever you purchase from the Café Modern (which will be serving up their full menu from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.).

Just saw the film Tokyo! done by Michel Gondry, Bong Joon-Ho and Leos Carax. It’s opening at the Angelika Theatre in Dallas on 4/17/09. Definitely worth checking out
