Failure of communication between police and 911 dispatchers in Frisco murder-suicide
When the daughter of William Taylor, who killed the girl's mother and himself on April 11, went running down the street screaming a neighbor took the girl in and called 911.
Apparently, dispatchers neglected to mention to police that the address they were sending them to was not where a shooting was taking place, but where the family who rescued the girl lived. Police showed up on the scene, reportedly attempting to kick down the door, as the frightened family feared that Taylor was outside and called 911 again.
Once the ordeal was over, Frisco police refused to apologize to the family, stating that they would react the same way given the information they received from dispatch.
