Jordan Miller (left) and Jay Schmidt of the band The Movement play onstage during NT's first-ever Reggae Fest Thursday afternoon in the Library Mall.
Thursday's Reggae Fest brought a bevy of dreadlocked musicians to the Library Mall outside the Willis Library, in a six-hour celebration of the Caribbean music genre.
Multiple bands, including Jamaica's own The Wailing Souls, as well as Texas bands like Grimy Styles and Subrosa Union, jammed onstage, paying tribute to legendary acts like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Toots and the Maytals. West African disc jockey Ebou emceed the event, UNT's first, and featured booths selling traditional island garb and jerk chicken sandwiches.
