Dallas Mavericks 105, San Antonio Spurs 97 (Playoffs)
The Dallas Mavericks pulled off their first postseason road win in three years on Saturday night, taking down the San Antonio Spurs 105-97 in game one of the playoffs.
J.J. Barea and Josh Howard turned out to be the night's heroes for Dallas. Since coming back from his ankle injury at the end of March (which remains injured but playable until Howard can have surgery in the offseason), the Mavs have gone 8-2. On Saturday Howard made himself valuable, scoring 25 points. Barea scored 13, with half of his points coming in the fourth quarter, while he made life difficult for the Spurs' Tony Parker. Dirk Nowitzki scored 19.
Tim Duncan and Parker scored 27 and 24 points, respectively. Manu Ginobili sat behind the bench, out for the rest of the season with a stress fractured ankle.
