Pro invitational wakeskate competition to be featured at annual Mayfest celebration

Each Spring over 200,000 North Texans head to Trinity Park in Fort Worth for the annual Mayfest celebration. Filled with food, drink, games and activities for the whole family and great live entertainment on six stages, Mayfest is the largest event of its kind in North Texas. The ultimate goal of the events producers is acquainting the citizens of Fort Worth with the new recreational opportunities available to them along the riverbanks in Trinity Park.

Introduction to Wakeskating

This year, festival goers will witness something new and exciting as sixteen of the top professional wakeskaters in the world will be competing in the inaugural Trinity River Round-Up Invitational Wakeskate Championships.

The Trinity River Round-Up is the brainchild of Dallas, Texas-based pro, Clint Tompkins. Known for his technical prowess on rails and obstacles and his never-ending search for new, undiscovered “winch” spots, Tompkins wanted to create an event that would bring some of his friends and fellow competitors to Texas to compete in a unique, natural setting. Already schedule to compete are some of the most celebrated names in the sport including Thomas Horrell, Brian Grubb, Aaron Reed, Brandon Thomas, Reed Hanson, Danny Hampson, Nick Taylor, James Balzer, Matt Manzari, Steve Campbell, Clint Tompkins and fellow Texans Bret Little, Collin Gee, Charlie Hewitt and Bo Parker.

“Because of our partnership with Mayfest, this competition could take place in front of the biggest audience ever for a pro wake event”, said Tompkins. “ I'm stoked about the opportunity to feature our sport to thousands who may not even know what wakeskating is!”

The Trinity River Round-Up will take place April 30th -May 3rd at Trinity Park in Fort Worth, Texas. For more information go to www.MayFest.org
