Richardson cemetery plastered with campaign signs

9

This morning the public was shocked to find several campaign signs located in the Bowser cemetery on the corner of Arapaho and Grove on the East side of Richardson. Those planted among the graves included Mark Solomon, John Murphy, Gary Slagel, Bob Townsend and Bob Macy. The phone at Richardson City News has been ringing since sunrise with questions regarding what message these guys intended to convey with their signs in the ghost garden.

Is this some kind of indication of where their votes have come from? Is this where they are trying to get more votes? Is this the "salt of the earth" supporters we've been hearing are wanting these guys elected to public office? Is any cemetery resident younger than those running for office? Did these residents get their vote in early or will vote on election day?

Is this some kind of prank, or did these guys really think there was some kind of positive message to be had by doing this? Is this an indication of the level of control these guys exercise over even graveyards? Those who have reported this regard it as a most distasteful example of a willingness to win at any cost.

I wonder how much our intrepid Correspondent had to pay someone to stage this photo? As his latest post on his web site (http://cornews.net/index.php?option=c...) shows, he is rapidly accelerating towards a total mental breakdown.

Most likely, someone out to embarrass the candidates planted the signs. Perhaps even were responsible for the phones "ringing since sunrise" at the home of the one person who could be counted on the publicize the prank as if the candidates were responsible. If that bit of speculation is at all accurate, then with this Pegasus News story, their mission was accomplished. That makes more sense than the speculation in this story.

My instinct is that it was a prank, in very poor taste.

I've wanted to walk that cemetery to see the markers and read the historical placque, but didn't because it looked padlocked. I guess these ill-mannered folks jumped the fence?

I gave this the half-second thought it deserved... "Who gives a sht?"
Cemeteries- a lot of wasted land.
But for you more sensitive folks-"Save the Corpses!" would make a good bumper sticker.

How inappropriate, signs in the 'yard'-hey it's marketing! Kinda like the 'king' thread...you know. Do you honestly think anyone looks OUT of a cemetery? Where better to put a sign than in a place made to be looked upon?

Wait a second.

Politicians just get a slap on the hand - AT BEST - for desecrating a cemetery? Do you have to be a card-carrying douchebag politician to pull this off or just any old comptroller?

B/c if I could blame my shenanigans on local teens...oh joy.

Doesn't mean they can't take the temporary fall while I find a better scapegoat...some of these things can't be framed overnight, Travis.
