— The Dallas Stars Monday announced that they have signed highly skilled defenseman prospect Philip Larsen to a three-year entry-level contract.

Larsen, a fifth round pick (149th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, played for Sweden in the Swedish Elite League this past season. The native of Denmark had two goals and 15 assists in 53 games. The 17 points ranked second among the team's defensemen. He had two goals and one assist in 11 playoff games. He also played for Denmark at the World Junior Championship, Division 1, picking up four assists in five games.

Larsen, 19, is currently in Germany with Denmark's national team, which is preparing for the World Championship in Switzerland. Larsen had two assists in two exhibition games against Germany over the weekend.
