Art openings and events in Dallas-Fort Worth April 23-26
See all arts events
If you're looking to buy arts and/or crafts from area artists and artisans, this weekend has plenty of opportunities for you to peruse the goods.
Thursday has a few lecture options with Janice Leoshko lecturing at the Trammell and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art to provide a little insight into the new installation of South Asian art objects. There is also a panel discussion at SMU about how art impacts society and paves the way to social change.
The Bath House Cultural Center is having their annual Spring Art Mart this weekend, with a preview reception on Friday. (Everything is the same at the preview, except there is wine and maybe cheese.)
In case you didn't get your art festival fill last weekend in Fort Worth, the first annual Cedar Springs Art Festival kicks off Saturday. This festival is an outreach to local artists, so if you like your art like you like your fruit (homegrown) then this is your lucky day.

In Fort Worth the Tarrant County indie craft scene has banded together for the Funky Finds Spring Fling. The first 50 people that buy raffle tickets will get a free swag bag. This might be a good place to pick up an original Mother's Day present (don't forget... it's coming up).
Also on Saturday is the first annual Oak Cliff Art Crawl. Galleries and studios in Oak Cliff will open their doors from 4 pm - 9 pm for receptions and festivities.
Valley House Gallery is hosting an opening reception on Sunday featuring art of multiple mediums of Americans at work. Early next week at Centraltrak, Natasha Zintsova will open her studio so the public can see her current works.
