CEDAR HILL Uptown Village at Cedar Hill, a 615,000-square-foot, regional lifestyle center developed by The MGHerring Group and located in the Dallas suburb of Cedar Hill, will be home to the first Bailey's Prime Plus in Texas.
Bailey's Prime Plus is a new, upscale steakhouse concept created by prominent Dallas restaurateur Ed Bailey. The restaurant will open at Uptown Village on Wednesday, April 29.
In addition to Uptown Village, MGHerring has secured a Bailey's Prime Plus location for The Village at Fairview, one component of its 3 million-square-foot, regional, mixed-use development located in both Fairview and Allen, Texas. Bailey's is scheduled to open at The Village at Fairview in fall 2009.
"We are honored that Mr. Bailey has chosen Uptown Village at Cedar Hill as the first location for Bailey's Prime Plus, bringing a new caliber of fine dining to the shopping center," said Sherry Koetting, vice president of leasing for The MGHerring Group. "Bailey's will complement Uptown Village's existing retail and dining selections and also will attract other quality restaurants to the center."
The design of the restaurant features a grand dining room with a 22-foot-high parapet and domed ceiling and many windows for natural lighting. The interior of the restaurant will be adorned with well-appointed, contemporary artwork.
The menu at Bailey's Prime Plus will offer a variety of prime steaks ranging from 10-ounce filets to 22-ounce bone-in ribeyes. Other menu items include lobster-stuffed avocado, crab cakes, chicken-fried pork tenderloin, broiled salmon, and bacon-wrapped shrimp, to name a few. For guests preferring lighter fare, an ample selection of entrée salads also will be offered. In addition to the main entrees, the restaurant will feature gourmet sides, desserts and a premium wine collection.
"With the opening of Bailey's Prime Plus, residents of Cedar Hill and neighboring cities can enjoy a superior steakhouse experience without having to drive to downtown Dallas," said Gary Van Gundy, president of operations for Bailey and Bailey Restaurants. "The MGHerring Group is highly regarded for the quality of its shopping centers, so Uptown Village at Cedar Hill and The Village at Fairview are natural choices for Bailey's Prime Plus locations."
Bailey's Prime Plus is not the only restaurant owned by Ed Bailey to open at Uptown Village. Bailey's Italian restaurant, Patrizio, opened at the shopping center in November 2008. The Village at Fairview also will include a Patrizio, scheduled to open at the center with Bailey's Prime Plus in fall 2009.
Uptown Village at Cedar Hill is located at F.M. 1382 and Highway 67 adjacent to Uptown Boulevard and Pleasant Run Road in Cedar Hill, Texas. The center is anchored by Dillard's, Barnes & Noble and Dick's Sporting Goods. For more information, visit their site.
The Village at Fairview, located at the northeast corner of U.S. 75 and Stacy Road in Collin County, is one component of the largest mixed-use development in Texas. The Village at Fairview is being developed in conjunction with The Village at Allen, which opened in October 2008. The two centers are separated by Stacy Road but were designed and are being developed as one project.
The Village at Fairview is anchored by Dillard's, Macy's and JCPenney and also will include The Container Store, Whole Foods Market® and a Village Roadshow Gold Class Cinema. The first phase of the project opens Aug. 5. Upon completion, The Village at Fairview and The Village at Allen will span 400 acres and include 2 million square feet of retail and 1 million square feet of office, residential and hotel space. Another fine dining establishment that most of us in the metroplex can not afford to eat at. What a waste of public space catering to the wealthy. Let us know when they get tired of you so you can become the Wal-Marts of steak dining.

There's always someone that complains because they have champagne taste on a beer budget. Maybe MunstaBoy should use some of his Obama stimulus check to eat at Bailey's. I'm so sick of people that think everyone should have everything. You're right. Wal-Mart should open a steak house. You'd be the first in line for the blue light special. Flip-off !
