Emergency bridge repair on FM 156 in Denton County going on this weekend
DENTON An emergency contract has been awarded for the repair of the FM 156 Bridge over SH 114. Gibson and Associates were awarded the contract for the $42,600.00 repair.
CLOSURE: All lanes on SH 114, east and westbound will be closed for the repair work beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, April 24. The lanes are expected to remain closed until the repair work complete by 6 a.m. Monday, April 27.
TxDOT’s Denton County maintenance personnel spotted damage to the FM 156 bridge the morning of April 8, and all lanes of FM 156 over SH 114 have been closed since then.
A message board is in place to alert drivers of the closure. Motorists on SH 114 eastbound can stay on US 287 to I-35W. Motorists can drive to FM 156 and travel north to FM 407 and then travel east to I-35W. Motorists traveling westbound can go north on I-35W to FM 407 westbound to FM 156, and then south to SH 114.
