In his first game back from injury, FC Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala once again hampered his side when he received a red card for using his hands outside the box in the 25th minute. The discretion forced the automatic ejection and Dallas had to play down one man down for most of Saturday's game against Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles.
Despite going down 2-0 for their second matchup this season, FC Dallas was pouring on the pressure in the first half, with near goal opportunities in the 11th, 25th and 30th minutes. Chivas goalkeeper Zach Thornton pulled out a number of spectacular saves to maintain his shutout.
Playing with just 10 men eventually took its toll on the Hoops, as Chivas grabbed control of the game later in the first half and held on for the win. FCD's backup goalkeeper Ray Burse was up to the challenges, but Chivas finally found the netting in the 68th minute when Atiba Harris headed in Mariano Trujillo's cross. An insurance goal in stoppage time from Alecko Eskandarian ended the game in FC Dallas' fourth loss of the 2009 season, putting them at 1-4-1.

· Sala exited the match in the 25th minute after receiving a red card for handling the ball outside of the penalty area. The goalkeeper will be forced to miss Dallas’ upcoming game at DC United.
· Ray Burse replaced Sala in goal and FCD was forced to play with 10 men for the remaining 65 minutes, pulling Dax McCarty off the field as a result of the violation.
· Dallas defender Marcelo Saragosa and midfielder Pablo Ricchetti each received stitches in the locker room following the game for separate head injuries.

· Head Coach Schellas Hyndman on the game: “We were very pleased with the way we played. I thought that under this difficult environment, being down a man, that we still had our scoring chances. I thought (Zach) Thornton was exceptional today. He made a save on Dax McCarty from five yards out, he made a brilliant save on Kenny Cooper’s header, and in the first 25 minutes before the red card I thought we really raised our level of play. We played 65 minutes with a man down, so I’m really proud of our guys.”
