Arlington police are looking for anyone who might have information about what caused the fatal injuries of an East Arlington man on April 19, 2009. Juan Magana-Hurtado was found lying in the roadway just down the street from his home and died two days later from his injuries.

Mr. Magana-Hurtado, 45, was last seen alive by his brother, who dropped him off at home in the 2000 block of Sidney Street at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 19. About 45 minutes later, 911 received a call about a possible hit and run accident in the area. It has not been determined if Mr. Magana-Hurtado was struck by a car or if his injuries were caused by some other means. He died on April 21.

One witness described seeing a silver, newer model Pontiac Grand Am or Pontiac Grand Prix in the area. The four-door vehicle had dark tinted windows and chrome rims. It drove east on Sidney Street past Mr. Magana-Hurtado’s parked vehicle and turned north onto Jonathan Lane, where Mr. Magana-Hurtado was later found. It is unclear if the vehicle hit Mr. Magana-Hurtado.

Investigators are hoping that the public might have more information about incident that could help them determine what led to Mr. Magana-Hurtado’s death. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ben Lopez at (817) 459-5373.
