In response to rave reviews and strong demand for tickets, Contemporary Theatre of Dallas will extend the run of The Cemetery Club by Ivan Menchell. This popular and critically acclaimed comedy, which opened April 17th, will now continue through May 17th, adding three shows to the run.
This vivacious and poignant comedy in the spirit of TV’s “The Golden Girls” tells the story of three Jewish widows living in Queens, New York who meet for tea once a month before visiting their husband’s graves. The contrasting personalities of sweet-tempered Ida, newly inspired party-girl Lucille, and unyieldingly priggish Doris make for the best of friends – until Sam the butcher enters the scene. Susan Sargeant, director of The Women, The Miss Firecracker Contest and Sylvia at CTD, returns to direct this charmingly comical production.
The cast includes CTD favorites Ouida White, Linda Comess, Nancy Sherrard, Susan McMath Platt, and CTD newcomer Francis Fuselier. Purchase tickets online or by calling 214-828-0094.
