WildRide! Against Cancer bike rally set for May 16 in Richardson
More than 2,000 cyclists from across North Texas are gearing up for the sixth annual WildRide! Against Cancer on Saturday, May 16. And there’s a new event this year for those who enjoy walking or running, the 5K Trail Walk – so bring the whole family!
WildRide! cyclists can choose from 16, 40, or 64 scenic miles that start in Richardson and pass through Plano, Parker, Murphy, and Wylie; across the dam at Lake Lavon; and through Nevada, Josephine, and Garland. The new 5K Trail Walk is a non-timed fun run/walk that will take place on Spring Creek Trail in Richardson.
The bike rally begins at 8 a.m. and early registration through April 30 is $30; registration after April 30 is $40. The fun run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and the registration fee is $20. Children under 12 get a 50 percent discount for both the ride and walk.
WildRide! and the 5K Trail Walk will be held in conjunction with Richardson’s Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival. All net proceeds of the WildRide! and 5K Trail Walk benefit the Richardson Regional Cancer Center, an affiliate of UT Southwestern Medical Center and home of the Lance Armstrong Shaped Beam Surgery™ program.
