Coppell Green Team works to recognize greener-than-thou businesses
Keep Coppell Beautiful and the Coppell Chamber of Commerce are working together to hatch the Coppell Green Team, an organization dedicated to recognizing Coppell-area businesses that are taking steps to protect the environment.
Says Brent Wooten, Chairman of Keep Coppell Beautiful: “I believe the KCB Green Team recognition and partnership with the Chamber of Commerce is a great program for our churches, businesses and organizations to be recognized and applauded in their efforts for 'going green'. I'm really excited about it finally coming to fruition after the concept was initially presented to the KCB board over a year ago. We even adopted and revised our mission statement to reflect how important and being cognizant of utilizing environmental sustainability practices are to KCB.”
Members of the Coppell Green Team commit to actively implement environmentally sustainable practices, procedures and operations and to comply with all local environmental requirements - such as promising to never operate a coal-fired power plant within the city limits.*
Charter members of the Green Team include Bob Freeman Photography; the Coppell Chamber of Commerce; First Baptist Church of Coppell; Karate for Kids; MSigns; and North Lake College.
For more information about the Green Team - or to get your business or organization on board - visit the Keep Coppell Beautiful page on the City of Coppell website (drill down from the Boards and Commissions menu) or email KCB@ci.coppell.tx.us.
* While this provision is entirely a product of the poster's imagination, it nevertheless might be a good idea to get their commitment in this area.
