Lancaster burglary attempt foiled by watchful neighbors, well-prepared homeowner
Eddie Fisher, a former crime prevention specialist for the Dallas Police Dept. and current Lancaster resident, saw his house become the intended site of a burglary on Thursday (July 30). I mean, he literally saw it.
That's because Fisher had installed video surveillance cameras around his house, which allowed him (and Lancaster police) to get a pretty good look at one of the men who tried to break down his front door. But the longer screws Fisher had installed on the lock and doorframe slowed them down long enough that neighbors had a chance to figure out what was happening and call the police.
The would-be burglars remain at large.
