Texas school districts go to extremes on TEA’s ratings chart
New Texas school system rating results announced by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) show that more districts than ever before have fallen into the bottom-scraping category of "academically unacceptable."
But, at the same time, the number of "exemplary"-rated school districts more than doubled, growing from 43 last year to 117 this go-round.
Over half of the districts ranked "academically unacceptable" received that ranking due to their dropout rates.
Here's the list of results; see "lists" to drill down on the school system that interests you.
My old alma mater -- Bryan Adams -- ranked (*SNIFF*) "unacceptable."
