Dallas ISD senior named to USA TODAY 2009 All USA girls high school track and field team
DALLAS Lauren Blackburn, a rising senior at the Dallas Independent School District’s Sunset High School, was named to USA TODAY’s 2009 All USA girls high school track and field team.
The criteria for making the list included ranking on USA TODAY and Track and Field News' national lists; the number of top performances; and head-to-head competition during the regular season and in major postseason meets.
Blackburn has stacked up a list of accomplishments in track and field, including recently winning the gold medal in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.70 at the UIL Class 5A Girls State Track and Field Championship where she also won the silver medal in the 300 meter hurdles.
A nominee for the Gatorade player of the year, Blackburn has been selected to the 2009 All State Track and Field team by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
