The Modern of Fort Worth and Lone Star Film Society team for kid-friendly Summer Flicks Series
The Modern Kids - Summer Flicks Series
- Where: Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell Street, Fort Worth
- Cost: Free
- Age limit: N/A
Just like Yogi Berra used to say, "It ain't over 'til it's over," and this applies to the Summer of 2009 just as it does to baseball games.
To prove it -- I mean, about this summer -- the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the Lone Star Film Society have teamed up to offer a kid-friendly film series that's both free and fun-filled.
Kicking off the series on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m., Dragon Hunters (suitable, say event programmers, for ages 9 - 13) makes its appearance.
The cool part (quite literally, keeping in mind the A/C) is that attendees can browse the gallery exhibits before or after the show. There will even be free sketchbooks available on request from the front desk, so kids (and adults!) can exercise their own creative talents.
Programming for the series (which includes a dozen other titles of interest to kids of all ages -- see event details, linked from sidebar) has been made available by KIDS FIRST!, which is affiliated with the Coalition for Quality Children's Media -- a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1991 whose mission is to teach children critical viewing skills and to increase the visibility and availability of quality children's media.
Go Modern!
