Dallas’ Restaurant Week to be preceded by Preview Weekend August 14-16
You can get a first taste of select establishments' special Restaurant Week menus during "Preview" Weekend August 14-16.
Booking reservations for KRLD Restaurant Week presented by Central Market is now underway. The heat is on to book sizzling dining deals at more than 130 of North Texas' hottest establishments who have opened up tables and are accepting bookings for this special giveback opportunity benefiting the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home. "Dining Out's a Good Deed, Helping Families in Need" the week of August 17-23, as consumers support what many now savor as a summer fundraising tradition. Don't forget that many establishments will extend their participation through the end of August and into September.
KRLD Restaurant Week presented by Central Market, which acquaints diners with the region's hottest menus, offers tasty three-course prix fixe dinner combinations priced at $35/person (tax, tip and drinks billed separately). What's more, $7 of each meal is donated back to the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas and Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth -- both of whom are feeling the effects of the economic downturn. Reservations are required.
To book a seat, directly call the establishment of your choice or visit OpenTable.com and specify that you are making "Restaurant Week" reservation. Open Table will donate an unspecified percentage to the charity beneficiaries for every online booking received on Reservation Day only. Please be advised that popular spots close out fast, smaller groups are easier to seat, and flexibility is appreciated. Choosing to dine out on a week night vs. a weekend may enable you to book a prime table and time slot as off-peak evenings are often less in demand. Plus, many restaurants will extend their participation beyond one week.
Additionally, as an added bonus, each participating restaurant is encouraged to suggest appropriate wine flight and pairing selections to compliment their prix fix menu selections. (Be advised that alcohol is billed as an extra charge). Glazer's and the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) will determine the best menu and wine combination. The winning chef / sommelier will receive a week's stay at the Culinary Institute of America's Greystone, Calif., campus.
Back again for a second year, receive a first taste of select establishments' special Restaurant Week menus priced at $40/person during "Preview" Weekend going on August 14-16. Diners will enjoy the addition of a fun, summery house cocktail made with 10 Cane Rum and/or Grand Marnier. A portion of each meal still benefits the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home.
Central Market, the presenting sponsor of KRLD Restaurant Week, is again offering its Fourth Course promotion while supplies last or until August 30. Consumers making an in-store purchase of $25 or more will receive a certificate redeemable for a free fourth course valid at participating Restaurant Week establishments. Also, catch your favorite chefs performing their culinary craft at special Central Market summer cooking demonstrations. Visit www.centralmarket.com for a schedule and additional details.
