Grape Restaurant in Dallas succumbs to burger mania and expands days it will serve it
DALLAS After getting a writeup for its burger in Texas Monthly, The Grape restaurant -- previously known for its wine list and its appeal as a romantic dining destination -- has succumbed to burger mania and expanded the number of days it serves the burger: from "Sundays only" to "Sundays-and-Mondays."
Nancy N. describes the burger as a 10-ounce patty with Vermont white cheddar, peppered bacon, Nathan’s horseradish half-sour pickles, and Dijonaise. And now it's served on Mondays from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., as well as all day Sunday. It's smart to serve it on Monday; usually Mondays are a dead zone.

I thought it was kind of unfair for <em>Texas Monthly</em> to pick the best burger in the whole world -- er, Texas -- to come from a place that only serves burgers one day a week! It's good to see that the demand for their burgers has increased, though. If that's what it takes to bring in more money to a local place, I guess that's good.

Great, "burger mania" is going to kill this jewel of a restaurant. You might was well knock it down, put in on the top of a Hummer, and then drive it straight to Frisco! We do not have to have the debate any longer about the possibility of The Grape never jumping the shark. Note to the republican that will be driving...You need to stop on the way and pick up a few Koala Kare baby changing stations for the restrooms. Oh and larger dining chairs and A HUGH FLAT SCREEN TV. Not for the Hummer you twit but for the restaurant, cause it does not have one.

Maybe this restaurant is trying to slowly change with the times. Seems burgers are in, nowadays, with this economy. The Grape was nice for a first date after an opera/ballet (girls loved that!!), but to go there regularly? If the burger is that good, i might go try it ...if the Jets are playing on the HUGE FLAT SCREEN TV....IN FRISCO/PLANO, after voting for Kay Baily Hutchinson.<g> (seriously, i don't get the political reference!!)</g>

I wonder if The Grape would've shut down had it not been for "Burger Mania". Don't tell me you wouldn't change your restaurant concept it if made you more successful. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar. Good for them.

the last time we drove down to Lower Greenville, (its a road-trip for us now), we noticed that the San Francisco Rose was closed. This was the lunch hour. It didn't look like they were remodeling. What happened to them? Anyone know...?
