Renegade Bus random playlist: Dallas hometown hip hop hype
We already pointed to a number of these artists (and Pete Freedman’s been all over our local hip hop scene for months), but I’m a sucker for songs about place. They help deepen a sense of belonging, create and enrich a city’s personal myth, and promote a city’s culture and character to the world in a way no chamber of commerce video could ever hope for. And so, our contemporary bards:
Tum Tum – "Dallas Girlz"
Big Tuck – "Welcome To Dallas"
Lil Wil – Dollas TX
Big Hoodboss ft. Tum Tum – I’m From Dallas
Young Nino & Hot Boy Star – Oak Cliff That My Hood
