When we last heard from Dallas-based filmmaker (and long-time local broadcast journalist) Quin Mathews, he was excited about the KERA broadcast of a documentary film he made about the Obama inauguration.
The new news is that Quin and company will be premiering their latest film -- called The Colors of the Sky: The Churches of Michoacán (Los Colores del Cielo: Las Iglesias de Michoacán) on Aug. 27 at the Meadows Museum on the campus of Southern Methodist University.
The Colors of the Sky documents village life and the baroque church architecture in and around Michoacán, Mexico. The film will be part of an exhibition of the photographs of Carolyn Brown and author Richard Perry.
The show starts at 6 p.m.; both Quin Mathews and Carolyn Brown will be in attendance.
