Dallas-based Southwest Airlines ups bid on bankrupt Frontier to $170 million
As reported, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is a major player in the bankruptcy bidding for Denver-based Frontier Airlines, with an auction scheduled to take place on Aug. 13.
Southwest has now upped the ante by raising their initial $113 million bid to $170 million.
The only other entity in the bidding is Republic Airways, and as Frontier's biggest creditor they stand to receive a cabin-load of cash from Southwest if that rival carrier succeeds in acquiring Frontier.
