Shops at Legacy in Plano celebrates Labor Day with family-friendly street fair
Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin and Dallas Cowboy Jay Ratliff will be there.

PLANO The first “Labor Day at Legacy” festival will take place on Sunday, September 6 to celebrate the new North Phase II addition to the Shops at Legacy complex in Plano.
The event is from noon - 8 p.m. and will feature musical performers, entertainment for the kids, food and drinks, and a look at the new retail stores along a walk through the north side of the shopping complex. The festival will also feature all-around Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin, who will be on hand from 1 - 3 p.m. to sign autographs and talk about her award-winning gymnastic career. Fans can then meet Dallas Cowboy Jay Ratliff from 4 - 6 p.m.
The first time event will introduce 14 new retail shops and restaurants in North Phase II to the public including a look at the Bellagio-inspired fountain. Several live bands will perform, including the Ice House Band as headliner, as well as Paul Harrington, AQuZ, Inner City All-Stars, and the popular PiT PoPs.
Kids can enjoy Pop Noggins (dancing heads), a face painter, strolling balloon artist, caricature artist, and wax hands. Adults can participate in a special wine tasting during the afternoon.
Proceeds from ticket sales for all activities will be donated to Children’s Medical Center. In addition, Legacy Books will conduct a Children’s Health Fair from 12 - 8 p.m., with a registered nurse in the store to answer kids health-related questions and give out literature. The store will also conduct a kids cooking demo, secrets of cooking Mexican salsa and for parents, and a Tequila tasting at 5 p.m.
