My Sister in This House (presented by WingSpan Theatre Company), which often echoes Jean Genet’s The Maids, is based on an actual incident that took place in the French town of Le Mans in the early 1930s. It centers on the lives of Christine and Lea, two servant sisters attached to the Danzard household. The Danzards’, mother and daughter, are models of petit bourgeois idleness and severity. While suffocating under the weight of the Danzards’ authority and the rigid lines of class distinction, Christine and Lea have only each other to cling to. This pressure cooker atmosphere - part psychological study and part thriller - results in a haunting and stunning emotional explosion.

The play will be directed by Marjorie Hayes. The acting ensemble includes: Catherine DuBord (Christine Lutton), Whitney Wilson (Lea Lutton), Susan Sargeant (Madame Danzard), and Stephanie Stuart (Isabelle Danzard). The production will be designed by: Clare Floyd DeVries/Scenic Design, Barbara C. Cox/Costume Design, Dan Schoedel/Lighting Design, Lowell Sargeant/Sound Design and Robin Coulonge/Properties Design. The production’s Stage Manager is Traci Kaplan.

The play previews on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. The play opens on Thursday, October 8th and runs through Saturday, October 24, 2009. The curtain time for all evening performances is 8 p.m. There will be two Saturday matinee performances on Saturday, October 17th and Saturday, October 24th at 2 p.m.

All performances will be at The Bath House Cultural Center on White Rock Lake in Dallas. Ticket prices are: $15.00 on Thursday evenings and Saturday matinees, Friday evenings are $18.00 and $20.00 on Saturday evenings.
