Marshall Newhouse is a Senior Offensive Lineman, Left Tackle to be exact, from Lake Highlands High School in Dallas. He is a two-year starter for the Frogs, also playing as a true freshman in 2006. In 2008, Newhouse was named Second-team All-Mountain West Conference. Newhouse is considered one of the leaders of the TCU offense.

I had a chance to sit down with Newhouse during TCU Media Day and ask him a few questions, giving fans a chance to know a little bit more Dallas native.

Q & A With Marshall Newhouse

Where did you attend high school?

Newhouse: Lake Highlands, Dallas

What position did you play on your high school football team?

Newhouse: Left Tackle

How is football different at the college level from high school?

Newhouse: Lot more commitment, lot more speed and athleticism.

How are college academics different from high school?

Newhouse: It’s definitely a job. You get more freedom, but it’s also more responsibility.

Newhouse: Pulp Fiction

What’s playing on your ipod?

Newhouse: Lot of stuff. I listen to some old R&B, the O' Jays, and the Gap Band.

What do you like most about playing for Coach Patterson?

Newhouse: He’s intense, and I know he’s going to do whatever it takes to help us win, no matter what the cost.

What advice would you give to a high school football player who wants to play college football?

Newhouse: You got to show people you are committed, you got to put in the time because when you do, it definitely pays off in the end. And there’s got to be some luck involved. I had some luck with me, but if you show you have a love for the game and you want to work hard, you can definitely do it.

What person do you consider most inspirational?

Newhouse: My mother and father. They have been through a lot, and I definitely look up to them.

Newhouse: Right now, Jerry [Hughes] is our inspirational leader.

When you are playing EA Sports NCAA Football, what team do you choose?

Newhouse: TCU. Absolutely.
