UPDATED: Plano girls home alone hide from home invaders in their bathroom
Two girls, 13 and 6 years old, were alone in their Plano home Thursday morning (Aug. 13) when a pair of home invaders kicked in their front door.
Thinking quickly (and perhaps referring back to all the creepy movies they'd ever seen), the sisters locked themselves in the bathroom and called the police, carrying on a whispered conversation with the dispatcher.
Both Brandon Strait (22) and Kevrin Nealond (19) were apprehended shortly after taking off from the residence when officers arrived. They're in jail now, charged with burglary.
UPDATE: Plano Police Department will present an award of recognition to Shykeema Polk on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. in the J.B. Toler Community Room. Shykeema is the 13-year old, who along with her younger sister, were instrumental in the arrest of two individuals that forced entry into their residence on Ridgefield Drive on August 13, 2009. Public Safety Communications will also be presenting her with a 911 Hero Award at this ceremony.
