DallasFood.org forums running again after horrific spam attack
DALLAS After a horrific spam attack by an anti-arthritis drug, the forums at DallasFood.org have been restored and are again ready to receive comments by the persnickety foodies of Dallas-Fort Worth.
Within the past year, DallasFood.org's forums, an adjunct of the renowned blog by the Man Who Is Called Scott, had after nearly six years of spam-free existence begun to be pelted by gratuitous links to the OpenTable reservation site.
Then, nearly a month ago, postings re: a manufacturer of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory used to treat pain or inflammation began to hammer the site in a bloody deluge. (Which begs the question, Are foodies prone to arthritis? This list of foods for arthritis sufferers to avoid includes salt, red meat, dairy products, corn, and flour -- all foods that DallasFood.org has covered in depth.)
In any case, the forums are back up, "though some further debugging and upgrades may be required," warns Scott.
