Eating and drinking events in Dallas-Fort Worth August 19 - August 25

Three words: beer pong tournament.

Two of the country's most revered chocolatiers come to Dallas this week. Hard Rock Cafe celebrates its grand opening. And Lee Harvey's hosts a beer pong tournament. Decisions, decisions.

Here's the week's top picks:

Thursday

Grand Opening of Hard Rock Cafe Dallas

Finally, a chance to purchase a new T-shirt. Headlined by the Old 97's, no less.

Neighborhood Night

Includes samplings from Wiseman House, the Hico, Texas chocolate company whose line includes truffles, sipping chocolate, and mocha crunch made from dark Belgian chocolate and ground coffee beans. That's a yes.

Saturday

Wild and Crazy Beer Pong Tournament IS CANCELED

Lee Harvey's welcomes Dallas' most gifted bar athletes. How do you know this is a serious competition? It has three divisions: Pro Singles, Doubles, and Bikini.

Chocolate Tasting

Cult chocolate makers Alan McClure of Patric Chocolate and Steve DeVries of DeVries

Chocolate will guide participants through a once-in-a-lifetime tasting of their hand-crafted bars. The tasting costs $7 per person, which is nuts. Reservations required.

Monday

Flavors and Wines of Argentina

Cheese empanadas with rose malbec; baked sea bass with Sauvignon blanc; roast lamb and chickpea puree with a reserva pinot noir; beef tenderloin and corn bread pudding with a malbec reserva; and custard cake with an extra brut sparkler -- come on, that's a lot of bang for the $59.95 buck!
