Dallas frozen yogurt meltdown: Yogurt Walki in Arlington
Mini self-serve fro-yo place sprouted up on the south end of Arlington.
Editor's note: As part of our series on frozen yogurt, we visit Yogurt Walki in Arlington.
ARLINGTON Opened: December 2008
Profile: Small self-serve shop in deep south Arlington feels like a mini version of Yogurtland in Carrollton.
Ambience: Rather narrow shop in small new strip center in Arlington south of I-20 has a neon-green, neon-yellow, and orange color scheme. Chairs are identical to the Ikea-type plastic chairs at Yogurtland in Carrollton, even down to the orange and green color. Tables have Formica tops in a silver optical illusion pattern. The self-serve yogurt machines are surrounded by tiny orange tile.
Utensils: Yes to the environmentally friendly paper cartons, no to the brightly-colored plastic spoons.
Price per ounce: 33 cents, not as low as Yogurtland's 30 cents but lower than average.
Yogurt: Yogurt Walki has five machines with two spigots each, for a total of 10 flavors. That includes Asian flavors such as taro and candy-bar flavors like chocolate and peanut butter. Topping selection is concise but respectable with chopped fresh fruit and grated coconut, as well as sweet cereals and candy.
Verdict: Good for Arlingtonians who don't want to drive in for a fro-yo fix.

Did you taste any? No comments on that? Or would you rather be nice and say nothing? Must not have been worth the drive :)
