Fred’s Texas Cafe in Fort Worth wins local burger battle
DFW.com, the entertainment website affiliated with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, finished its summer-long Battle of the Burgers this week and finally arrived at a winner: Fred's Texas Cafe's Diablo Burger.
The burger battle employed the bracket-style approach that has become popular with best-of contests, and involved the consumption of 99 burgers from 32 hamburger joints in Dallas-Fort Worth, including Kincaid's, Twisted Root, Burguesa, and Dutch's. The focus was on taste, not service or price. The surprise is that Jakes came in second.
Other awards went to Dutch's for Best Buns, Steak & Shake for Best Value, and Five Guys for Best Fries.

I read the battle and I noticed Wingfields was #30. I am not sure if the public did the voting or was it the critics at the FST. How can Wingfields the #1 rated burger be #30 in a FW poll with Jakes at #2? It just does not make any sense.
