New cast announced for Dallas ISD’s TV programs
There are four: School Zone Dallas, Zona Escolar de Dallas, Aquí en Dallas ISD, and News Beat.
DALLAS The new 2009-2010 cast for Dallas ISD's Emmy Award-winning television program, School Zone Dallas, highlighting students, teachers, and learning opportunities, has been announced: The new co-hosts are Lorena Watson, David W. Carter, and Nicholas Muston, Woodrow Wilson.
Reporters on the program are Dennise and Daisy Quintanilla, the Law Magnet at Townview Center; Brandon Nwannunu, Emmett J. Conrad; Julie Negussie, W. T. White; Emma Cepeda, Sunset; Kalyce Simpson, Humanties/Communications Magnet at Lincoln; and Jose Ortiz, Skyline.
The 2009-2010 cast of Zona Escolar de Dallas and Aquí en Dallas ISD -- the Spanish-language versions of School Zone Dallas and News Beat -- have also been announced. Co-hosts are seniors Fabiola Martinez, W. T. White; and Raul Ortega, W. H. Adamson. Reporters are Erika Ipina, the School of Business and Management at Townview Center; and Julissa Marmolejo and Maria Diaz, both at Skyline. Zona Escolar de Dallas will air in the fall and spring on Univision-Channel 23. Aquí en Dallas ISD airs monthly on Univision’s Via 23.
News Beat is a new current events program produced by the district and hosted by students that airs on district Cable Channel 98 and the district Web site. The cast includes Clarissa Gonzales, Booker T. Washington; Paola Arreola, W. T. White; Tristan Hardy, Thomas Jefferson; Malcolm Hornsby, the School of Education and Social Services at Townview Center; Daryl Zarate, W. T. White; and Amanda Benavidez, Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School.
School Zone Dallas, Zona Escolar de Dallas, News Beat/ and Aquí en Dallas ISD are produced by Dallas Schools Television and hosted by students in the Dallas Independent School District.
School Zone Dallas airs on KERA-Channel 13. Zona Escolar de Dallas and Aquí en Dallas ISD air on KUVN Univision-Channel 23. News Beat airs on Cable Channel 98 on Time Warner Cable System of Dallas and on the district’s Web site.
