Elaine’s Kitchen, Caribbean restaurant in Dallas, moves to bigger new location
Still the same great jerk chicken, says DallasFood.org.
Elaine's Kitchen, the American-Caribbean restaurant that's been a small spot in the same strip center as the Black Forest Theater, has moved to a bigger, brighter space right up the street.
The Man Known As Scott paid a visit to the new location and posted some appetizing, hungry-making photos of the medium combo plate with jerk chicken, oxtails, rice & peas, and cabbage. Oh, he also bought a bottle of Ting, if you're into that kind of detail. Although why anyone would order Ting when they can get a ginger beer, I don't know. Grapefruit juice vs. ginger? Come on. Although Ting does have real grapefruit juice, it's got that going for it. But is it enough to elevate it above ginger beer, that is the question. They also have goat, oxtail, and other Caribbean specialties.

I went there once. There was a large TV. Children approximately 7 years old tried to sell me crack. I did not buy. She did not want to get out of car. Sad event, really.

Ginger beer > Ting, especially if you are taking statins to reduce cholesterol. (Grapefruit = no-no.)
