City of Arlington schedules public meeting to discuss Bowman Springs Road project
On Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Southwest Branch Library, 3311 SW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington City Council member Sheri Capehart will host a town hall meeting to discuss implications of the Bowman Springs Road project.
Plans call for a reconstruction and widening of Bowman Springs Road from I-20 to the city limits of Kennedale. The Southwest Nature Preserve, which is approximately 58 acres of undeveloped property, is located on the east side of the project. According to Public Works Assistant Director Jill House, the City of Arlington is developing mitigation strategies for decreasing the potential impacts of roadway construction on the nature preserve. This roadway construction project is scheduled to start in 2011.
Should you require special accommodations in order to attend this public meeting, contact the office of the mayor and council at 817-459-6143, or email Council Coordinator Ellen Brooke at Ellen.Brooke@arlingtontx.gov.
