Photo gallery: MetroPCS Fair Park Holiday (December 6)

The highlight for our photographer was meeting siblings who were separated 15 years ago and are about to spend their first Christmas together.

— There was lots to do at MetroPCS Fair Park Holiday on Sunday. The five-hour event was packed with local music performances, a Dallas Cowboys/New York Giants watch party, and the annual tree lighting. But it was the off-the-beaten path sights that kept us entertained. You'll find photos of all the highlights in our photo gallery. Most notably:

  • The famous 700-foot, newly renovated Esplanade fountains spewing water and wagging to the beat of Christmas music
  • A 30-year-old horned owl, brought from the Dallas Zoo, who looks quite fit for its age
  • The most giant Santa's workshop our photographer has ever seen
  • Reunited siblings who were separated 15 years ago -- about to embark on their first Christmas together in 15 years
  • Performances by Rangeela Indian & Westerns Culture Fusion Dance, which drew a huge crowd
  • Kids making homemade holiday decorations (with a little help here and there from parents)
  • And funnel cakes. What's the fairgrounds without a little funnel cake -- even if it isn't State Fair season?
