Ambitious little tea spot opens at Preston-Forest in Dallas

Village Tea Company plans to open branches in Allen, Highland Park, Austin, San Antonio, Los Angeles, New York, and Miami!

Anyone for crepes?

Anyone for crepes?

The Village Tea Company certainly has a unique profile: It combines tea-room with a kind of daycare-center option.

"Women and children, that's our theme," says manager Carl Sublett. "We have a playroom that's a little more sophisticated than what you might expect. We're having events where the kids can be engaged while the women can drink tea."

The business, which has five owners and four investors, began as an online tea-sales venture; they've sold tea to celebrities such as Beyonce and Taylor Swift, says Sublett. Preston-Forest, which opened in mid-November in a former Quiznos, is their flagship store, where they'll soon start serving pastries and scones supplied by La Duni. But it won't stop there, oh no it won't.

"We're opening our second one in Allen in six months MAX, then Highland Park, Austin, San Antonio, Los Angeles, New York, and Miami," Sublett says. "It’s a great little concept."

they're doing pretty well and the tea is really good. It's also a pretty cool place to hang and take a meeting.
