Upcoming Denton concerts — December 10-12
Andrew Tinker and two My Denton Music Christmas shows are on tap this week.
Andrew Tinker -- Thursday, December 10 at The Boiler Room
Thursday night is going to be a great night for outstanding local music at The Boiler Room. Headlining is Andrew Tinker, one of the most well-respected and talented musicians in the area. He and his band have perfected the pop rock sound that has become their staple. If you have not seen these guys live in concert then do so immediately!
Also playing is Darcy, making their homecoming after an extensive road trip. They are more pop than rock for sure, but they attack the genre beautifully. Their song "Catchy Melody" is pretty much exactly that.
To top it off, Big Round Spectacles will open the show. I hope this show is as packed as it should be! These are three great bands who will be sure to put on an entertaining show.

MDM Presents Xmas In Denton -- Friday, December 11 at Hailey's
Come out to Hailey's Friday, December 11 as Yeahdef.com and My Denton Music present the hip hop event of the year! Plus FREE PIZZA all night provided by HotBox Pizza!
Soul Relentless -- The ever-ready wordsmith known as Soul Relentless is a Denton hip hop scene staple. Soul is widely regarded to be one of the most incredible rappers around. Taking his jazzy, funked-out approached to the stage on Friday, he will be backed by a band consisting of some of the members of Sol Kitchen, leaders of the Fry Street get-down club. Expect widespread dancing to ensue.
Juicy The Emissary -- Known in Denton/DFW as one of the best producers in the area with his ground-breaking group Vortexas, Juicy takes the hip hop MC art form to a new level. If you combine the calculated laid-back style of Snoop Dogg with Jay Dilla's masterful production, then you begin to understand Juicy The Emissary's approach. The man has skills.
Pudge -- As one of the members of legendary Denton Hip Hop group Fab Deuce, Pudge is a relatively young MC who has exploded on the local scene. Whether featured on numerous singles of local artists or with one of the leading groups in Denton, it's clear that Pudge is a strong voice in local hip hop.
Yeah Def -- He's a DJ and producer with no limits. Holding down several DJ nights at Hailey's and going down to Dallas to play shows on a regular basis, it's clear that DJ Yeah Def can't stop, won't stop. One of the hardest-working DJs around, he was recently awarded for his efforts the Dallas Observer Music Award for Best DJ. Very few DJs have the ability to do what DJ Yeah Def does for the dance floor.
Rhythmic Sole B-Boy Group -- Along with these awesome local hip hop artists, the Dallas B-Boy Group Rhythmic Sole will be performing some unreal break dance moves. These guys are incredible, and you have to see it to believe it!
Cover is $7 for over 21, $9 for under 21. Plus: Giveaways by 2nd Street Clothing New - Recycled - Vintage. Click here to RSVP on Facebook.
MDM Presents A Very Funky Christmas -- Saturday, December 12 at Hailey's
Join My Denton Music as we celebrate the Christmas season real funky like! Plus FREE PIZZA all night provided by HotBox Pizza!
The lineup for this showcase will keep everyone shaking on the dance floor all night long:
Backside Pick -- Combining the classic groove of Sly and the Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Parliament, and modern rock, these guys know the recipe for an all-night dance party. Backside Pick recently won the Dallas Observer Music Award for Best R&B/Funk Band. Expect lots of frenzied dancing.
Dirty Little Mouth -- The Denton music scene was not ready for Dallas' DLM when they recently started playing shows in Denton. Ever since making regular appearances in Denton, more daughters have been locked up at night and more unsuspecting faces have been melted off. You have to witness their infectious combination of rock/funk live.
Hatch -- Whether you've seen them play at Dan's Silver Leaf at a weekly engagement, or opening for the Snarky Puppy Benefit Show, you know the Denton staple jam band, Hatch. These guys are a group of some of the most talented musicians in town who know how to have a good time. Taking inspiration from the founding fathers of funk, George Clinton, Hatch brings the party to you and will have you bobbing your head and shaking your stuff, a perfect start to a funky night in Denton.
Plus, we'll be holding a festive outfit contest and giving away hundreds of dollars worth of prizes to the most festively decorated people in the audience! Ladies, that means naughty Mrs. Claus, fellas de-mothball your tacky winter sweater and let's get down!
Winners will receive gifts from 2nd Street, Hannah's, WIK, and My Denton Music. Cover is $6 for over 21, $8 for under 21. Click here to RSVP on Facebook.
