Racial discrimination alleged in Denton County District Attorney’s office
Workplaces need to realize you just can't blurt out whatever comes to mind. Racist is racist.
What has been rumor or innuendo for years in the Denton County court system now comes to light. There have been stories of the good old boy system in place, and this court case peeks into it.
Nadiya Williams-Bouldware and her attorney William Trantham filed suit against the Denton County District Attorney's office, D.A. Paul Johnson and 1st Assistant D.A. Jamie Beck, for racial discrimination creating a hostile work environment. Attorney Cary Piel is alleged to have made the remark that made him "understand why people hung people from trees" and it made him "want to go home and put on his white pointy hat," upon review of a criminal case against a black defendant. Ms. Williams-Bouldware reported the incident to her supervisor Susan Piel, Cary's wife. Williams-Bouldware then received a half-hearted apology from Piel regarding his comments.
Normally cases like this in the workplace are over once a complaint is made to HR and action is taken. But the suit goes on to state that harassment of Williams-Bouldware continued from other employees with other remarks made and alleging her to be a troublemaker for even bringing it up.
Beck, of course, denies they did anything wrong and that it was handled properly. Beck cites the reason for this suit is the upcoming 2010 election. Yes, of course. That must be it. Never mind someone wanted to hang someone from a tree. How dare they be offended, right? And I am not sure why this would be related to an election when there is no election to be related to. Democrats are not fielding a candidate for D.A. that I am aware of. So what would Paul Johnson have to worry about going into an unopposed election?
Workplaces need to realize you just can't blurt out whatever comes to mind. Racist is racist. And those comments are pretty clear as to their intent, also given the history of our fine county and its court system. I hope an unbiased judge will take on this case and give it its proper course, but since the trial will also be in the Denton County court system, I doubt that will happen.

I think that the white hoods are slowly coming to light and the "injustice" system is rearing its ugly head once again, but i'm sure they will come up with every excuse in the book as to why this women is crazy and how she is "playing the race card" even though they are "dealing the card", and how they are absolutley in no way shape or form racist, i bet their best friend is black lol..yeah right!

Heck here in Collin County the courts allow perjuried statements into the record.
The discrimination in Collin County is more based on you religion. Cases decided on what the judge thinks your religion is. Baptists are you BIGOTED

I think Texas was one of the most racist places in the south and still is. Its just a long line of hatred past down from generation to generation. And the worst part is it's not just in these small court rooms there in higher places. By that I mean the white hooded racist, but the difference is they traded in the white sheets for three-pieced suits. Thats sad, and you wonder why there's so many angry black people.
