Blythe Beck, chef at Central 214, offers preview of new menu with Valentine’s Day specials

Central 214 is the fine restaurant at Hotel Palomar.

— Chef Blythe Beck, known for her fiery personality and new American cuisine, is a step closer in her quest for "Total World Culinary Domination." Beck is now on board as the executive chef of Central 214 - - the four-star restaurant at Hotel Palomar. Her Valentine's Day menu will offer a sneak preview of the restaurant's new menus to be introduced in early March.

A national celebrity in the making with the development of an Oxygen network show The Naughty Kitchen, which will follow the chef's professional and personal life, Beck is bringing her own rich touch to the restaurant's tradition of rustic, American regional cooking. Guests will also enjoy the opportunity to interact with Beck, who loves to be on the floor almost as much as in the kitchen. In addition to the restaurant's stylish décor, hip bar and cozy outdoor courtyard, Central 214 also features dinner seating at the Chef's Table and Chef's Counter beginning at 5 p.m, each evening.

"Diners will feel a real sense of hospitality at Central 214," says Beck. "We are combining refined, upscale dining with an intimate setting and approachable, welcoming menu. I am excited about interacting with the guests as they enjoy my deliciously naughty interpretation of familiar cuisine."

Before joining Central 214, Chef Beck gained notoriety as the executive chef at Hector's on Henderson in Dallas. The born-and-bred Texas native first began her career under Dean Fearing at the Mansion on Turtle Creek while studying culinary arts and hotel/restaurant management at UNT. Chef Beck participates regularly in local charitable and food events for the State Fair of Texas, as well as Savor Dallas, A Taste of Dallas, the Farmer's Market Hoedown, Taste of the NFL benefiting the North Texas Food Bank, and Dallas Cowboys star Bradie James' Foundation 56. She is also a member of the Dallas Morning News Wine Panel.
